Oil fouling.
Recovery of HVAC-R machines.

Discovered by the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) and first documented in the ASHRAE Manual 2008, Refrigeration, Chapter 6. 7, oil fouling is the result of a gradual deposit on the walls of the refrigerant piping of a mixture of lubricating oil and refrigerant that fuse, adhere and solidify, significantly reducing the performance of the HVAC equipment due to its increased insulating and frictional capacities, thus worsening the heat transfer coefficient between the refrigerant, the piping and the medium, and increasing the resistance to refrigerant flow.

All oils present in the compressor lubrication line produce oil fouling, reporting performance drops of 7% to 9% in the first year alone and up to 30% over the lifetime of the compressor.
A two component solution.
The main component, tetrafluoroethene (PTFE), removes the oil fouling present and permanently fixes a chemically inert thin film that reduces drag, creating a highly slippery surface with lower surface tension that prevents the adhesion of new residue, restoring coolant flow in the circuit and improving heat transfer. The second component acts as suspended nuclei in the coolant, accelerating the evaporation point of the liquid and thereby improving the thermodynamics of the system.

What makes Pradditive's oil fouling solution so innovative is its ability to restore and improve the efficiency of the refrigeration cycle in air conditioning systems, heat pumps and refrigeration systems with oil in the circuit. As a result, every component in the circuit will work more efficiently, reducing running times, energy costs and carbon footprint.

The Pradditive´s oil fouiling solution is compatible with most HVAC air-condensing and water-condensing equipment based on compression technologies requiring lubricating oils, heat pump, industrial refrigeration and refrigerated transport installations.
Our solution is also compatible with most Freons (R-22, R-134a, R.407, R-410a, NH3), but not in CO2 installations. It can be applied both in completely new equipment, where we estimate an improvement in performance of around 3% or 5%, and in equipment currently in use, where the savings are between 14% and 25%. It is in the latter where the drop in performance goes unnoticed over time, usually attributed to:

-
Variations in climatic conditions with previous years.
-
Variations in annual equipment utilisation.
-
Lack of maintenance and quality control of the oils used.
-
Lack of monitoring of equipment consumption and production.

Pradditive will recover the lost performance of your equipment, consuming less for the same load or increasing the original cooling capacity.
